Ideological clashes, tactical disagreements, personality conflicts, differing group process preferences, anger at other members’ behavior – most membership groups run into conflict. And most activists of all classes respond to conflict constructively;

• They raise disagreements and criticisms assertively and humanely; and 
• They resolve conflicts collaboratively. 

But when activists stray into a less helpful approach, they tend to fall into the pitfall most typical of their class.
